Softi Free OCR is a complete scan and
OCR software. It is very simple to use and supports multipage TIFF, Adobe PDF and fax documents. It has TWAIN and
WIA scanning.
Program based on OCR PDF engine known as
Tesseract. The Tesseract is an open source project by Google, formerly developed at Hewlett Packard Laboratories.

- Images from a scanned document can be selected and placed on the clipboard.
- Scans can be cropped before Optical Character Recognition process.

- Minimum hardware requiment: P200, 256 MB RAM, SVGA.
Includes scanning engine requires images at a resolution of 200
dpi or greater. It may not reading PC screenshots which are only about 72 dpi. For best results scan at 300 dpi in greyscale.
FreeOCR for scanned PDF is freeware, for commercial use too. The Tesseract OCR engine is under open source
Apache V2.0 license.
It requires the Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0.
